Chesterfield - The Chesterfield Historical Society has received a $1000 donation through the Western Mass. Community Fund. This grant will allow the members to proceed with the project of mounting the recently donated make and break, one cylinder antique engine ,that powers the grist mill. This engine was donated by Joel Carr who has been the operationg engineer since the Grist Mill opened. This project is expected to take the summer season to complete. Interested volunteers should call Jeremy at 296-4465.
The Chesterfield Historical Society has received three new storage cabinets and installed them in the Document Room in Davenport Town Office Building. The goal is to have a secure room to archive Town records, old pictures and papers donated by residents. Town records can now be gathered under one roof and archived by the society under the direction of the Curator of Documents.
